Warsaw University Scholarships

Agency for International Cooperation informs interested applicants on the possibility to apply for the Krzysztof Skubiszewski Scholarship for the academic year 2011/2012 open to applicants who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis or who have significant academic achievements in the field of law (especially human rights, constitutional and international law), political science or contemporary history. The scholarship is open to applicants from Central Europe, the Balkans, the Baltic States, Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus.

The scholarship duration is nine months, starting from 1 October 2011. The scholarship amounts to 22 500 Polish złoty (PLN) (ca. EUR 5 815, according to the rate of exchange as of 17 January 2011).

The Foundation grants scholarship holders travel costs for a return ticket (reimbursed only once), accommodation expenses in Warsaw or accommodation in any other city in Poland, and PLN 3 500 for the purchase of books required for academic work.

Preference will be given to candidates who are under forty years of age.

Knowledge of English is essential, and knowledge of Polish is desired (more at http://www.studium.uw.edu.pl).
