The Second Meeting of the Joint Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation Between Montenegro and Slovenia

Slovenia, signed on 2 July 2008, and the Protocol of the 1st Session of the Montenegrin-Slovenian Joint Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, signed on 11 March 2010 in Ljubljana, the 2nd Session of the Joint Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation was held on 25 October 2011, in Podgorica.
Heads of delegations, Tea Glažar, MSc, Head of Office for International Cooperation, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia, and Smiljana Prelević, Secretary of the Ministry of Science of Montenegro, signed the Protocol regulating administrative and financial framework for the realization of joint projects and the two-years work program of cooperation.
The Joint Commission accepted 24 projects from various scientific fields, with the total annual funding amounting to EUR 70 000, where Montenegro and Slovenia would participate with equal share of EUR 35 000. As for the Montenegrin partners, the projects will be financed by the Ministry of Science and partly by the Agency for International Cooperation.
The parties exchanged information on the centers of excellence and scientific and technological parks, affirming that they would encourage cooperation between the future Montenegrin and existing Slovenian centers of excellence and scientific and technological parks.
Both parties expressed their satisfaction that the bilateral cooperation in scientific research for the scientists from Montenegro and Slovenia would be of great importance.
The Slovenian side will actively participate with Montenegro in its integration process into the European Research Area during 2012 and 2013.
